Rio Grande Valley Destination Tour

October 29 - November 5, 2017

An exciting week is planned as we visit this area of the United States located off of the North bank of the Rio Grande River.  We will be staying at the wonderful Victoria Palms Resort in Donna, Texas.  You will have the choice of camping or staying in one of their suites on site.  Our tour starts with a visit to the Riverside Club for lunch with a relaxing River Cruise along the Rio Grande River.  Then on to the Jaber Estate Winery, a family owned winery dedicated to creating incredible wines from the highest quality grapes of the Rio Grande Valley followed by dinner Mexican style.  Take a  tour to tropical South Padre Island by boarding the “Black Dragon” Pirate Ship in Port Isabel for an entertaining interactive pirate adventure, followed by a deli lunch.  Spend time on the Island and then get ready for the adventure of  the Safari Sea Creature Wildlife narrated Cruise. The passenger yacht Osprey has a high profile and is exceptionally well suited for sightseeing. From the upper deck you have panoramic views and with binoculars you can see for miles (and there’s lots to see). Every trip is a unique experience, and there’s nothing to match it on the Texas coast.  Enjoy an “Island Style” dinner at the Painted Marlin Grille, South Padre’s newest waterfront restaurant.  Visit Quinta Mazatlan, a historical Adobe mansion and nature and birding center located in McAllen where you will be able  to chat and walk with a garden expert. Enjoy the themed garden walks with interesting stories about plants and gardens, followed by  dinner at the Republic of Rio Grande for a sumptuous, indoor-outdoor bar & grill.  Enjoy a Dinner with a Halloween Dance and optional costume contest, two breakfasts, Welcome Dinner and our Farewell Dinner at the Resort.  Of course you will have free time during the week to visit local attractions and plenty of time to take advantage of the great events happening at the campground.  This trip is new for 2017.  Come and join in on the fun and relax in the Lone Star State with the Coachmen Owners Association.
